He's Back!!!!

Beckett Of Old
Josh Beckett is coming off one of the worst season of his career. He posted a 6-6 record with a 5.78 ERA last year. He started the least amount of games and had the least amount of strikeouts sense his rookie season with the Marlins. Coming into this year he was a huge question mark and no one really knew what to expect from him, but in 4 starts he may have shown everyone what we will see for the rest of the season.
This year in Becketts first 4 starts he is 2-1 with an ERA of just 1.93. He has already thrown 28 innings and finally looks to have his breaking ball back to where it was in 2007. It looks like Beckett will have the captain, Jason Varitek as his personal catcher for the rest of the season. Beckett looks like he has better command and isn't trying to just throw it by people anymore, which is keeping the ball in the park. If Beckett can keep his solid pitching the Red Sox look to have two solid top of the rotation pitchers in Beckett and Lester. With Buchholz, Lackey and Dice-K also on a hot streak the Sox, could easily have the best rotation in baseball.
With the slow start the Red Sox got off to, it was very important for the pitching staff and most importantly Beckett to get it goin. in the last 8 games the Red Sox are 7-1 and all 5 starters haven't given up more then 2 earned runs in any of their starts. For the Red Sox to keep winning they will need to keep pitching like they have and the hitting will fallow. The Red Sox are going to make this season one i don't think we will forget anytime soon.

Great to see him back and earning that big contract but more importantly I think so goes Lester/Beckett, so goes the Sox. Nice to have Buckhotz doing well last season but he's not a proven big game stopper like Beckett. Dare I say it but I hope his back holds up. Go Sox.
